I am a woman in my mid 40’s with menopause symptoms. When I spoke with my doctor I was told we just don’t know what to do for woman your age – you are not in menopause yet, just stick it out. Stick it out!! That is unacceptable, I’m still young and wish to feel that way instead of being tired, losing my hair and mood swings – just ask my husband how bad they are! A friend recommended I go to Global Nutrition for a session, what did I have to lose? GN quickly identified with me and told me that I was in per menopause. GN recommended bio-identical hormone replacement (not fake hormones like they gave our Mothers), supplements and diet changes. To my amazement my per menopause symptoms are non-existent and my husband said I am much nicer! I watch my friends suffer and tell them don’t there really is help out there and it is through Global Nutrition.

I am 50 years old and for the past 25 years, I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with me. I have been to doctors, allergists, read books upon books about nutrition and self help, gathered information from the intranet, tried diets upon diets, medications and supplements….always ending up back where I started. It was very frustrating. Then, I met Carla…she has changed my life…..in the first hour we met, she took all the pieces to the puzzle, that is my life, and put them together. It was amazing! Everything makes sense now!...I feel wonderful, it’s as if someone stuck a pin in me and I am slowly deflating…I have more energy, less aches and pains, fewer mood swings, diminished food cravings, and, as a special bonus, I fit into a clothes size that I haven’t been able to wear in 25 years! I feel that I have control over my life…it’s such a good feeling after being out of control for so long! I can’t help but think if I had met someone with Carla’s knowledge 25 years ago, my entire life would have been different….but I cannot look back, only forward…. I am grateful that the next 25 years will be healthier and happier and Carla will be there to help me when I am out of balance. -Barbara A. Ehman

Counteract age-related thyroid problems Monday, February 04, 2008 (530 reads)
Thyroid decline affects every cell in our body, resulting in a wide range of age-related problems
The thyroid gland is an endocrine gland located just under the Adam's apple in the throat. It secretes a hormone into the bloodstream called thyroxine, which controls the body's metabolism, the rate at which the body burns calories for energy. It also controls the body's utilization of fat. A decline in the secretion of hormones from the thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) can result in poor concentration, confusion, memory problems, cold hands and feet, weight gain, menstrual problems, sleep disorders, dry skin, thinning hair and low energy levels. An under active thyroid is also a major cause of a common painful musculoskeletal condition known as fibromyalgia.

DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is an endogenous hormone (made in the human body), and secreted by the adrenal gland. DHEA serves as precursor to male and female sex hormones (androgens and estrogens). DHEA levels in the body begin to decrease after age 30, and are reported to be low in some people with anorexia, end-stage kidney disease, type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent diabetes), AIDS, adrenal insufficiency, and in the critically ill. DHEA levels may also be depleted by a number of drugs, including insulin, corticosteroids, opiates, and danazol.

No woman can predict what symptoms she will experience, or how severely. Therefore, the management of Perimenopausal needs to be as personalized as the symptoms themselves

Why Pharmacutical Grade Supplements Thursday, January 03, 2008 (473 reads)
In order to have a therapeutic effect, nutrients must be absorbed into your bloodstream. The extent to which they can be absorbed is referred to as their bio availability. In most cases, the same substance can have a greater or lesser degree of bio bio-availability, depending on the way it is manufactured. It is important that they are also manufactured in a FDA-registered facility. Otherwise, you have no true assurance that what is on the label is even really in the tablet or capsule. It is important that the tablet or capsule follow the US Pharmocepia guidelines (USP) for dissolution of the tablet or capsule. In other words, you want to be sure that the supplements you are taking actually dissolve or it doesn’t matter what is in them—you won’t get anything. The overwhelming majority of supplements on the market today do not follow these guidelines.
